The Breed

The typical Valais Blacknose has a harmonious, robust and large-framed body, with wool of similar length and thickness all over its body, head and legs.

They get their name from their beautiful black noses, and the black colouring extends up the face to the eyes and surrounds them.  The ears are totaly black and there are black markings on the fronts of their knees and on the hocks.  These distinct markings, coupled with their remarkable horns, give them a striking (not to mention highly endeering) look.
